is proudly populated by people of diverse ages, cultures, ethnicities, faiths, humours, orientations, sizes, and skills. Their Majesties cherish the combined efforts of those who serve our College and Faire to educate and entertain travelers from many lands and welcome those who wish to volunteer.
We strive to build an inclusive and equitable world for the enjoyment of all who inhabit the realm.
The Alabama Medieval Fantasy Festival, like most festivals, is run in part by its volunteers. We have many dedicated, passionate people who bring our kingdom to life. It is fair to say that every participant is a volunteer, whether you are a builder, actor, artisan or vendor; everyone contributes to making our fair an amazing experience for all who visit. We encourage the idea that our little medieval village is “a place out of time” and all our volunteers are welcomed into the fold.
We also have many opportunities to volunteer that do not require costumes. Behind the scenes volunteers are equally important to making our faire the best it can be.
There are benefits to beloming a volunteer - free entrance to the faire, access to cast-only areas, a cast medallion, a seat with the court, a ton of new friends and MORE! Most day of faire volunteers must be appropriately garbed or dressed and we can assist you with costumes, language, and accessories.
Building during the off season, working the land, helping with various guilds, painting and art, setup before faire and other events, or even becoming part of our various guilds. One could also donate coin or materials for any sort of project we mayhaps be involved in. The opportunities are many and varied, we have a place for you to showcase your particular talents!
Landscaping, pulling weeds, building or repairs to structures, decorating, cleaning, sign placement, painting, weed eating, tent setup, gardening and planting, stage setting, sweeping, and trash removal.
